Paraplegia Hospital, Ahmedabad is the only hospital of its kind as it takes care of all the aspects of treatment and rehabilitation of paraplegic and spinal cord injury patients. Shri Sudhir Chimanbhai, the son of an industrialist Shri Chimanbhai Lalabhai of Ahmedabad was suffering from a crippling disease, which turned fatal in lieu of proper treatment in India nad abroa. This resuleted n the creation of Chimanbhai Lalbhai and Sudhir Chimanbhai Paraplegia Hospital & research & training Centres which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India Shri Morarjibhai Desai on 13th October 1978.
