What is paraplegia?

Paraplegia means paralysis of both lower limbs.
How admission to patients is given?

All the paraplegia patients are first admitted in Civil Hospital in the Orthopedic Department and thereafter transferred to the Paraplegia Hospital.
Direct admission is available?
Only for the old paraplegia patients attending the Paraplegia OPD for follow up, if required admission  direct admissions given, if bed is available.
Whether any out-door treatment is available for patients?
Yes, for paraplegia and other disabled patients only.

 The timings of OPD

On every Mondays & Thursdays from 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM
 Is any payment is to be paid for indoor treatment?
No. Only prescribed cost of aids given from Prosthetic & Orthotic Workshop is to be paid.
Is there any special room available?
At present not available.
Procedure for admission in Physiotherapy course.

The admission is done alongwith MBBS,BDS through Centralised Admission Cell. Admission procedure starts immediately after declaration of XIIth Science result. Notification for admission will be given in newspapers.

4-1/2 years & 40 seats available.
 How one can attend training in Psychomotor Laboratory?
Any doctor interested in training can contact this hospital with their convenient period. And after confirmation, they can attend the training.

Any training fee for Psychomotor Lab. Training? Period of training?

No fees. Period of training is depending on individual to individual. Minimum one week for hands on training.
Training for individual doctors available or only group training in Psychomotor Lab.?
Individually doctors are permitted to take training. 
Free artificial legs and hands are given to all patients?
Under A Leg to Stand On Project, free artificial legs and hands are given to all patients below the age of 18 years.
What is the procedure and who is eligible for free artificial foot/hands?
All amputees above or below knee/shoulder, below the age of 18 years are eligible. You can directly register your name at our hospital.
Any documents required for getting artificial legs/hands?

No. Only details of the patient are required
